We have relocated to the Highland Lakes area after 48 years in Austin. Swann's is not affiliated with European Import Car Repair or its previous management. Swann's Garage has been in business since 1955. We work on most vehicles, European, Asian and yes, even new and classic Domestic brands. I would actually rate this business and the owner of this business lower than one star given the option. My experience with this place has been nothing short of a nightmare. I own 3 Porsches and live in Horseshoe Bay. I maintain all my cars to the most pristine condition and in doing so travel all the way to Austin to do so. Well I caught wind of this place and thought I could save myself some mileage and have my car's maintained here. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!! First off the place was rather hard to find it's located on a back road off of the main drag and trumped by a large Chevrolet dealership. When I walked in I sat waiting at a glass window while I could see a small little man yelling at someone on the phone. Some of the language he used was rather inappropriate and I'm glad I didn't have my wife along with me or any of my children. After I waited a good long while he got off the phone and gave me a form to fill out and told me to sign it which I thought was rather odd because only my personal information was filled out on the form. I told him what I wanted done which was an engine oil change with filter and a brake flush for my 997. He told me he'd be done with it tomorrow because he had other projects he was working on. Which was odd because I didn't see any other vehicles around the whole place. I told him OK and so I called my wife to come pick me up. Well the next day I had to call to see if my vehicle was ready. I had to call numerous times before he answered and by this time it was almost 5 on the afternoon. When I went down to pick up my vehicle and received my bill it was almost $600. I thought surely there was a mistake and he told me that I needed brake pads so he replaced them. I know that was a lie because I had less than 1000 miles on them. I told him that I didn't authorize him to replace the brakes I just wanted my oil changed and a brake flush. He began to argue with me and started getting loud and irate I could have punched that little man out at that moment but I kept my composure. I told him I wasn't paying for that service and he told me he wouldn't give me my keys back because he had my signature on the paper that had all of the services and parts listed on it. Sneaky little bastard that's why he made me sign it in the beginning. I ended up paying the $600 told him I would report them to the Better Business Bureau he simply let out a loud cackling laugh threw my keys at me and told me to leave. I have never been treated with such disrespect by anyone. My advice to anyone thinking about going to this place for services is not to, you will be disappointed and disrespected.
