Good REAL food like days of yore. Open face roast beef sandwich with brown gravy. Chicken fried steak with cream gravy....food fresh breads. Legendary meringue pies.

The Bluebonnet Café has survived and thrived since 1929 for a good reason , they serve good simple food that is very well-prepared at a fair and honest price and they serve it with a smile . The seating is crowded but the service is quick and the food is delicious . Everyone working there seems to love their job and is warm , friendly and inviting to every patron through the door . Their pies really are as good as advertised and are a main draw. My aunt had an exceptionally brilliant idea . She bought five different kinds of pie , sliced them all and gave each of her friends a pie that contains five different types. . How lucky her friends were . The perfect thing to bring back from a trip Marble Falls!

A lot of hype over this place, but their pies were just okay. We did not eat a meal here, just four different types of pies. Everyone's food looked really good and very well portioned, however!

The place has a lot of character and is worth a visit. Huge selection of pies to choose from, but not many berry pies. Staff was awesome. We had ordered a pop to drink while there and they sent us on our way with a "to go" glass. Definitely above and beyond what to expect these days for service.

The atmosphere was cozy and the waitresses were as friendly as could be. Service was excellent and there was only a 5 minute wait when we arrived (8 pm Saturday). The food, while good, didn't exactly live up to the hype. I ordered the chicken fried steak and the flavor just seemed bland. I did like how my meal included 3 sides, much more generous than similar style chain restaurants. Another potential issue, especially for tourists, is that they only accept cash. There's an ATM inside, but the payment process can be heavily slowed down during peak times. Overall, this is an ideal family restaurant for classic southern comfort food with friendly service. Make sure you order a slice of pie too!

Quintessential Southern Diner... Closes at 1:45PM so get here early. Huge portions and lovely southern waitresses who will refer to you as "Honey". Great place... very busy... and you will probably wait in line. One of the first things that you see when you come through the door is a photo of President and Laura Bush dining there. Save room for the world famous pie.

There was a line to get in, but it moves pretty quickly. They are cash only, but they do have an ATM on premise if you didn't bring any with you.

Long lines but worth the wait.
